Welcome to Dave and Candy's website. I have information, stories and photos about Midland, located in the California desert. This United States Gypsum Co. (USG) town is gone, dismantled and trucked away after the gypsum ran out. If you worked in the mine, lived in Midland, CA or have relative that lived or worked in Midland, here is the place for you to get in touch with old friends, classmates, and the desert you loved. The 2009 Midland Reunion is coming soon! The tentative date is Nov. 6th

I am looking African Violets hybridized by Forrest Richter who had a greenhouse in Highland, Indiana years ago. I have three of his violets, Kaper, Topps, and my newest addition, Bon-bon, a 1956 vintage miniature. See my African Violets here.

Thanks for visiting, and enjoy!
