For the latest news on the Midland, California reunion and the chance to say hello to former Midlandites, Please visit the area of my website dedicated to the long-gone desert mining town where I grew up, and where so many of us hold such dear memories. What an unusual place to have lived!

The Midland Reunion was great!! Hope to see you again in 2007.

Fall stayed a long time this year. We were able to open the windows now and then even in November! I finally brought the rest of my houseplants inside around Nov. 14th. We had a light snow that melted in the morning.

I have been devoting more time to a hobby I started 30 years ago, African Violets. Back in the 1970's I purchased some violets from a local hybridizer. Sometime after that Richter's Greenhouse in Highland, Indiana sustained significant damage in a spring storm. Mr. Richter closed his business. I still have three of his violets, none registered; "Topps", "Kaper" and "Parson's Wife". I regret loosing a girl-leaf violet with "cabbage-like" greenish white blooms many years ago. Aside from the Richter's violets, I have mostly minis, semi-minis and a few species. I have been working on pictures now and then.

We hope you enjoy our Website and find it useful, fun and informative. God Bless!

My daughter in Australia just pointed me to a most interesting website! I first learned about the world's oldest and rarest trees on earth after my daughter's husband sent a video about the secret, wild area west of Sidney. The rare trees are being propagated in a conservation effort. Now you can even own your own Wollemi Pine! Visit the website to learn more about this wonderful prehistoric relic.

JMB Galleries, is part of a private art collection that I put online for a client. Click below to visit:

My next project was a website for the African Violet club I belong to. Click to visit the Hoosier African Violet Society. If you live in NW Indiana, and you are interested in African Violets, give us a call, new members are welcome. Come learn how to grow for fun or show. We love our violets and want to share them with you!

My newest project is Gary's Out of Africa, where you can buy beautiful Streptocarpus and other Gesneriads. Check it out!

I don't get anything for saying this, but I choose Hostica for most of my web projects.
